Recently ElectraSol designed and installed one of South Australia’s largest privately owned rooftop solar systems at Salena Estate Winery in Berri. Managing Director Bob Franchitto decided to invest in the technology to both save money on power consumption and make a positive impact on the environment The 99.75KW system covers 660sqm and will produce an average of 440kWh of power per day which is approximately 80% of the business’s energy use saving the business approximately $6000 per month Sustainable technology was an important factor for Salena Estate “We are located on the pristine River Murray and we need to protect this environment for future generations to enjoy” said Mr. Franchitto. Director of ElectraSol, Paul Russo said about 112 tonnes of carbon dioxide savings would occur annually as a result of this project or the equivalent of planting 12,500 trees per year.
